The Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion

The Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion, part of the Kimmel Cancer Center, provides affordable housing for adult patients getting treatment at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Located right next to the Orleans Garage on the hospital campus, the Pavilion is open 24/7 and offers a supportive, home-like atmosphere. It’s a comfortable and welcoming alternative to staying in a hotel when you need specialized medical care.

Housing Requirements

• The patient is receiving treatment at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  
• The patient has a caregiver, over 18 years of age, who has agreed to stay for the duration of treatment.
  
• The patient and caregiver have a permanent residence and will supply their identification card or other proof of residence.
  
• The patient is able to care for themselves, evacuate the premises in case of an emergency, and prepare meals (or do so with assistance from their caregiver).
  
• The patient and caregiver agree to check in no sooner than one day before the start of treatment and will check out no later than 24 hours following completion of treatment.
  
• We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our patients, visitors and staff members. The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a tobacco-free campus. Use of any tobacco products is not allowed in the Pavilion, or on the grounds of the JHH campus.
  
• The Pavilion is an alcohol-free environment. Each room is limited to one patient and one caregiver.

Room Information

• Suites at $60 per night
• Apartments at $87 per night
• For those who have a car, parking is an additional $4 per day
• Accommodations are available on a waiting list basis.

  Recognizing the importance of fellowship and support for patients and families staying in the Hackerman-Patz Pavilion, the David S. Ettinger, M.D. Patient and Family Entertainment Program was established through the vision and generosity of Dr. Ettinger and his family. An array of programs and activities are planned each month to entertain and rejuvenate, all offered free of charge.
